Back to School Card for Choir

My daughters best friend asked me to make some cards for her choir class to welcome the new kids and welcome back the old.  The only thing she asked was to make it musical.  So I went thru the 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalog to see what I could find that was musical.  This is what I created.
Recipe:
Card Stock: Cajun Craze item # 119684,
Basic Black #121045,
Very Vanilla #101650.
Newsprint DSP item #117166.
Ink:  Cajun Craze 119671
Accessories: pages from an old book,
scallop punch # 119854
brads #119737 & 108431
White smooch spray #118772
sponges#101610
Stamp Set: Define your life #114950

So, let me tell you the technique I used to make the flower.  I took the pages from an old book and used the 1 3/4 scallop punch. I did 7 layers per flower.  I spritzed them with water and then crumbled them up.  I let them stay crumbed and damp while I cut my other cardstock. I came back to them and opened them up they weren't completely dry and that was okay too.  I sponged them with my Cajun Craze sponge and then crumbled them up again.  Continued with my project and set them aside. At the end of the project I uncrumbled them again and layered them on top of each other. With a paper piercer I put a small hole in the center so that it went completely thru all 7 layers. Put brad in and then fluff it up so that the brad didnt show and it looked like a flower.

Okay thats all enjoy your day.  School starts on Wednesday here so I wish all my friends kids a safe and fun first week of school.
